Rehabilitation in the case of total right leg paresis caused by disc herniation--case report.
Disorders of normal relations within the intervertebral joints are among the most important secondary consequences of intervertebral disc injury. Not only the joint mechanics are impaired, but since the disintegration of nucleus pulposus causes backward movement of the axis of movement, there are also secondary degenerative changes inflicted which, in turn, accelerate wear of the facet joints. ...
متن کاملIsolated Hand Paresis: A Case Series
BACKGROUND Hand knob infarction is a well-known stroke entity. Based on very limited data, embolic stroke mechanism has been considered the most frequent cause; however, prognosis is considered good. We wanted to shed more light on this phenomenon by assessing a cohort of patients referred to a general hospital stroke unit. METHODS Every subject admitted to our stroke unit with an acute isola...
متن کاملGeneral paresis with reversible mesial temporal T2-weighted hyperintensity on magnetic resonance image: a case report.
We report a patient with general paresis, whose magnetic resonance image (MRI) showed a T2 high-intensity lesion in bilateral mesial temporal regions. Serum rapid plasma reagin test showed reactive at 64 dilutions and serum Treponema pallidum haemagglutination test was 1:20480. Cerebrospinal fluid analysis showed: RBC 111/mm3, WBC 8/mm3, Venereal Disease Research Laboratory reactive at 1 diluti...
متن کاملHorner's syndrome and brachial paresis as a complication of lumbar sympathetic block: a case report.
An unusual case of Horner's syndrome secondary to a sympathetic block in a patient with chronic adhesive arachnoiditis (CAA) is described. The patient, a 40-year-old white woman, presented with spastic paraplegia, hyperreflexia, bilateral Babinski sign, superficial and deep sensitive hypoaesthesia at the T4 level, in addition to bladder and rectal dysfunction since she was 32. At age of 38 she ...
متن کاملIsolated Pathetick nerve paresis by compression from a dolichoectatic basilar artery: case report.
The article describes a woman with 53 year-old that has presented diplopia when looking down and adopted a tilted head position in order to read for the last six months. The neuro-ophthalmic examination shows isolated right superior oblique muscle paresis. The magnetic resonance and the angioresonance show the dolicoectatic basilar artery compressing the right ventral lateral brainstem.
